THE QUICK HITS:
You’re Up!: The Canes roster for tonight’s game will feature 18 skaters and two goaltenders that did not play in Tuesday’s victory over Tampa Bay. Defensemen Dylan Coghlan and Jalen Chatfield are the only two that will be skating in back-to-back games.
Coghlan’s First Impression: Carolina’s newest blueliner had a strong showing in his first preseason game as a member of the team, recording three assists in Tuesday’s 5-1 win. The defenseman has been quarterbacking the team’s second power play unit, showcasing his heavy slap shot – an asset that Rod Brind’Amour has stated that he liked about the mobile right-handed defender.
Goalie Go-Round: After Frederik Andersen posted a 20-save win on Tuesday, Antti Raanta and Zach Sawchenko will dress for Carolina tonight. Brind’Amour mentioned earlier in Training Camp that the hope was to get both Andersen and Raanta “a couple games” each during the team’s preseason schedule.
